Still photography creates such a beautiful outlet for art. You can truly curate the perfect story in one image. Using depth, focus, and lighting can really create an impact.
I still to this day love David Yarrows animal series because of the fact that he could capture such normal human scenarios with a stunning twist. He adds animals like wolves and bears to normal human scenes like a car or the bar. It makes the image seem so grounded & natural yet magical.
Some of the most beautiful photos are staged scenes. Whether with animals, humans, weather, or props you can truly create out of this world stories. Do you have an image that comes to mind when thinking of art through photography?
As much as I love motion pictures, the more I study images in general, the more I love and appreciate the work of photography. It's crazy how much thought goes into a single image capturing a feeling, subtly representing something, juxtaposing elements to make a statement. One of my favorite photographer is Gregory Crewdson, and he is really good at telling a story with an image.
