The Perfect Second
A photo is taken in less than a second. The setup, planning, posing can take much longer. But the result is from a single moment. This has good and bad. The good is, that exact moment will never be recreated. It’s special, unique. But that also means you could miss the moment. Once in a lifetime moments that also can’t be recreated. You must remember to not take it to heart too much. Celebrate the moments captured and don’t stress the ones missed. There will always be a diffe

Let The Location Inspire You
Sometimes when we have such an incredible location we forget to use it. We’ll look and think the location will speak for itself and make the photos pretty regardless. This may be true but it should also be your call to use to level up what is already given to you. Don’t let the location outshine your vision, let it elevate it. Find new angles, framing, lighting, poses that you’ve never done before. Work with the location not against it. What is your dream shoot location?

Taking a quick pic to reflect back on is so important. When you look at an old photo it doesn’t just bring you back to that moment, it reminds you of something else that day, the feeling you felt, that time in your life. An image can hold a hundred memories. Don’t underestimate the love one

Creating Art Through Images
Still photography creates such a beautiful outlet for art. You can truly curate the perfect story in one image. Using depth, focus, and lighting can really create an impact. I still to this day love David Yarrows animal series because of the fact that he could capture such normal human scenarios with a stunning twist. He adds animals like wolves and bears to normal human scenes like a car or the bar. It makes the image seem so grounded & natural yet magical. Some of the most

An iPhone is All You Need
Photography is accessible to almost everyone now! The iPhone has gotten to a point of such high quality that it can almost pass with real camera quality if used correctly. Lighting, framing, and exposure truly make a difference on the iPhone. Sometimes turning down the exposure just slightly makes the quality better. Then you can always go in and edit it later. Have you experimented with your iPhone camera? If so, how did you like it?

Don't Push It!
Photos can use editing for sure! But if you edit it so much that you can’t recognize the person, is that really a good photo? I think the conversation comes down to preference and whether it is intentional. There is a time and place for everything, including high editing. If it being used for art or intentionally I totally get it! But if you are taking headshots and edit to the point that the person is unrecognizable, I'm not sure that is a good quality headshot anymore. As p
